Viking Age belt based on a find from Gotland in Sweden. The belt is handmade from durable oxhide and it comes with a historically accurate brass buckle. This is the perfect belt for the average Viking without too much bling.

The strap is long enough for you to cut it down according to your preferences. Finish off by making a few holes that fit you. If you don't have a hole puncher, do it as during the Viking Age - place the belt on a log, take a thick nail and hammer it through where the hole should go.

Product number: 4759

A belt belongs to the basics of a Viking outfit, together with a tunic, trousers and shoes. Belts ranged in width from 12 mm to 40 mm, which is evident in finds from the Viking Age. Richly decorated belts were not used by everyone. Anything that served as a belt could naturally be used - such as a piece of rope, cloth or a simple leather strap. Worth noting is that these simpler variants have not been found in graves or other excavations. This could be due to excavated graves usually belonging to notable persons who afforded more elaborate belts. Also, organic material does not survive. As such, if you are going for an outfit based wholly on actual finds, you should consider one of the belts with metal buckles and strap ends.
